
Terms and conditions
1. Definitions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

Lock & Leisure: the entity providing the smart locker service located at Marina de Albufeira;

Tenant/Use: the natural or legal person using the locker rental service;

Locker: the automated storage compartment made available by Lock & Leisure for temporary rental;
-
Rental Period: the time interval contracted by the Tenant for the use of the locker.

2. Scope of Application
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of lockers located at Marina de Albufeira. Use of the lockers implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Purpose of the Lockers
The lockers are intended solely for the temporary and personal storage of legal and safe personal belongings. They may not be used for permanent storage, commercial purposes, or any unlawful activities.
4. Locker Specifications
A Lock & Leisure provides a total of 186 (one hundred and eighty-six) lockers, each with the following dimensions: 300mm (width) x 300mm (height) x 590mm (depth), with a maximum load capacity of 40kg (forty kilograms) per unit.
5. Duration, Rates and Extensions

Tenants may choose from various rental periods (e.g., 1h, 3h, 6h, full day until 10:00 PM);

Lockers may be opened and closed an unlimited number of times during the rental period;

Extensions are subject to availability and to the applicable rate at the time;

6. Booking and Payment

Rental is processed via the Lock & Leisure digital platform, with prepayment required;

Use is valid only upon confirmation of payment.

The user undertakes to:

Use the locker diligently and securely, ensuring it is properly locked before and after use, being solely responsible for any damage caused by improper use;

Store only items compatible with the locker’s volume and intended use;
-
Not share access with third parties or disclose the PIN code;
-
Report any incidents to the support team;
-
Comply with the instructions of those responsible for the lockers' management, maintenance, and security.
Lock & Leisure accepts no liability for damage, theft, or accidents, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
8. Prohibited Items
It is strictly prohibited to store:
-
Hazardous, flammable, explosive, toxic, or radioactive substances;

Dangerous or illegal items, or items that contravene these terms;
-
Drugs, firearms, ammunition, sharp or dangerous objects;
-
Illicit or counterfeit substances;
-
Perishable food, live animals, organic matter, dry ice;
-
Valuable documents, significant amounts of cash, precious metals/jewellery;
-
Switched-on electronic devices, signal emitters, or heat generators;
-
Organic, corrosive, pungent-smelling substances, leaking liquids, or items that could damage the locker.
Lock & Leisure reserves the right to access the contents of lockers in cases of reasonable suspicion of misuse, applying criteria of reasonableness and proportionality, and may report the matter to the relevant authorities.
Non-compliance may result in immediate removal of items, civil and criminal liability, and notification of the competent authorities.
9. Forgotten or Abandoned Items

Lockers not emptied by 22:00 are subject to an additional fee of €15/day, and can be emptied until one day after the rental period;
-
Forgotten items will be removed and stored securely for 14 days; after this period, Lock & Leisure reserves the right to dispose of, donate, or destroy the items without any obligation to compensate;
-
Recovery of items may be requested via WhatsApp or email, subject to identity verification and handling/transport administration fees.

10. Unauthorised Access or Lost Code

Any loss of access or failure to receive the access code must be reported immediately;
-
Reinstatement is subject to user identity verification.

11. CCTV Surveillance and Security
-
The area is under continuous CCTV surveillance in accordance with Law no. 95/2021 and related legislation;
-
Footage is retained for a maximum of 30 days, unless legally extended in the event of an incident.

12. Personal Data (GDPR)
-
Personal data collected (name, contact details, payment data) are processed solely for contractual management, security, and customer support purposes.

Data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or with the data subject’s consent.

13. Liability and Limitations

Lock & Leisure shall not be liable for losses, thefts, or damage to stored items, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

In proven cases of liability, the maximum compensation shall be €150 per locker.

The Tenant is fully liable for any damage caused to the locker or to third parties, whether directly or indirectly.
14. Insurance

Lock & Leisure maintains an insurance policy that covers:
-
Material damage up to €150 per locker;
-
Third-party liability resulting from system malfunctions;
-

Insurance will only be activated if the Tenant’s personal insurance (e.g., travel insurance) does not cover the damage.
-
High-value items should be covered by the Tenant’s personal insurance.

15. Access Hours
-
Lockers are available daily between 07:00 and 22:00;
-
Outside these hours, lockers are locked and cannot be accessed. The Tenant must empty or extend the rental in advance.

16. Complaints
-
Complaints must be submitted by email to support@lockandleisure.com within 7 days of the incident.

Lock & Leisure undertakes to respond within 10 working days.

17. Customer Support

For general support, use the WhatsApp contact available via the QR code on the lockers or email us at support@lockandleisure.com

In urgent situations, the support team may contact the Tenant directly by phone.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
-
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law, including the Civil Code, the Consumer Protection Act, and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679.
-
The Court of the District of Faro shall have exclusive jurisdiction for the resolution of any disputes, with express waiver of any other.

19. Amendments to the Terms

Lock & Leisure reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. Any changes will be published on the official website and shall take effect from the date of public availability.
